ImaginOn's Studio i lets Charlotte teens choose how to tell a story
Recording, video and hands-on making share a teen creative space, with appointments dependent on staff and equipment availability.

A story can take the form of a recorded voice, a short film or something made to wear. ImaginOn's Studio i and Makerspace brings several of those possibilities together for Charlotte teens, giving an idea more than one way to become a finished project.
The space is in the second-floor Loft at ImaginOn, 300 East Seventh Street, and serves ages 12–18 working on creative projects. Its equipment list includes a sound booth, blue-screen tools, 3D printers, a vinyl cutter, sewing machines and a heat press. Availability of a particular tool must be confirmed with staff.
Current appointments are offered Monday–Friday, 2–5 p.m., pending staffing. Call the Loft at 704-416-4660 before visiting to ask about the project, equipment and a suitable appointment. Ordinary building opening hours do not mean every specialist tool can be used at any time.
Pick a manageable first outcome: a podcast opening, a short weather report or a simple sewn object. Discuss materials and preparation before buying supplies, and leave time to learn the tool rather than only use it. Working across sound, images or fabric can also reveal which medium suits the story you wanted to tell in the first place.
